Restaurant Karawankenblick on the Pyramidenkogel in Keutschach: a family-run gastronomy with tradition!

The Restaurant Karawankenblick on the Pyramidenkogel in Keutschach is a family-run gastronomy with a long-standing tradition. In 1957 our parents already opened the former Café, which underwent a large number of reconstructions since the foundation back in the days.

From the 1960s up till today

The first extensive rebuild happened in the year 1967. In this year we enlarged the kitchen and the dining room, so that we could cater for a larger quantitiy of guests. In 1977 another renovation took place. On that occasion the shell for the private residential home was constructed. In 1988 I, Christian Schaschl, took over the management of the Restaurant, that was former led by my parents. Under my leadership the shell of our private home was extended and later on we renewed the kitchen area. With the support of the people of the „Bergler Eisschützen“ we also succeeded to construct an inside artificial ice rink in the year 1995.

The past years

To keep up with the times we made additional reconstruction work in the past few years, so that we were able to handle the constantly increasing number of guests in our Restaurant. In 2006 the plan for the construction of a new dining hall and a counter area was put into practice. In the new building we attached great importance to provide accessibility to all people. Our Restaurant on the Pyramidenkogel in Keutschach now disposes of two dining rooms and a rustic „Bauernstüberl“.

In 2010 we modernised our kitchen and equipped it with induction cookers, an area for grilling, a convection oven and a lot more. Thanks to an emergency backup generator we can even keep our Restaurant open in the case of a power breakdown.

At the end of the winter season 2014/2015 we reconstructed our „Bauernstüberl“, which now provides place for 30-35 people in a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Today we run our Restaurant Karawankenblick as an all-year operation with warm meals served all day.

2019/2020

At the turn of 2020, the business was handed over to Christoph Schaschl, the son of the house, who is now the third generation to run the family business and ''KOKE 1'' retired after 32 years of self-employment

A big thank you goes to my father for his many years as the energetic owner of the business, only through a lot of passion and love for the profession have we become a family business with tradition.

Today we run the Karawankenblick restaurant as an annual business with all-day hot meals. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our many regular guests and loyal employees and look forward to seeing you again soon in our cozy restaurant!
